About Sakura Poodles
​My Story
Hello, I’m Mara—the heart behind a small, intentionally curated Poodle breeding program.
For over 15 years, puppies have been part of my life. My journey began learning from my father-in-law, an experienced Labrador Retriever breeder, where I was introduced to the standards, discipline, and responsibility behind ethical breeding.

What started gradually became something much deeper—and in recent years, I’ve fully dedicated myself to this work.
​
Today, my focus is simple: to raise well-balanced, beautiful Poodles in a way that feels natural, personal, and intentional.
​My Program​
My program is not a kennel. It is a carefully managed, family-based program designed to give each dog a real-life experience.
​
My dogs are raised between my home and a small circle of trusted family and guardian homes. This allows them to grow in natural, loving environments—developing balanced temperaments and adapting easily to family life.
​
Every dog remains under my supervision. I stay closely involved, maintain constant communication with the families who support my program, and personally oversee every aspect. Each dog is part of my bloodline—known, evaluated, and raised with intention.
​
This is a distributed but deeply controlled program, built on trust, consistency, and hands-on care.
​HEALTH & TRANSPARENCY
​
Genetic-first approach: My breeding program is guided by genetic testing (Embark & Animal Genetics) and thoughtful pairing across generations. My bloodlines have shown to be consistently healthy, with no known history of hereditary or orthopedic issues, and all adult dogs are routinely evaluated and maintained under regular veterinary care.
​
Veterinary clearance required: Every puppy is individually examined by a licensed veterinarian before going home.
​
Full health evaluation: Includes physical exam, fecal testing, and all required checks at the time of examination.
​
Health Certificate issued: Puppies are only released once the veterinarian confirms they are healthy, show no signs of illness, and are free from life-threatening conditions at the time of the exam, in accordance with Florida law.
​
No clearance, no release: If a puppy is not approved by the veterinarian, they are not sent home until properly cleared.
​
Florida law compliance: My program follows all applicable Florida regulations and health guarantee standards.
​
Clear communication & documentation: I am committed to full transparency at all times. All health information is communicated both verbally and through official veterinary documentation. At the time of pickup, each family receives the puppy’s official Health Certificate issued by the licensed veterinarian, along with all corresponding records.
​
Sales & Health Agreement: A written Sales and Health Agreement is presented and agreed upon at the time of reservation. This document outlines my program’s terms, health warranty, responsibilities, and any applicable limitations or conditions.
​
Defined terms & responsibilities: All policies regarding health guarantees, timelines, and any applicable reimbursements are clearly detailed in the agreement. Veterinary evaluations provided at the time of sale serve as the official record of the puppy’s condition at that moment.
​
Professional & legal standards: While every effort is made to ensure each puppy leaves healthy, it is understood that veterinary evaluations reflect the puppy’s condition at the time of examination. My program operates under licensed veterinary care and in full compliance with Florida law.

Two years ago, I expanded my vision and created a space that reflects my world:

Located in West Miami. This is where I meet with future families, host appointments, and create a more personal and professional experience. It allows families to connect with me, learn about my program, and feel confident every step of the way.
​
Poodles require lifelong grooming, and I wanted to create a place where my puppies could return—somewhere familiar, calm, and designed just for them.
Families who bring home a puppy from me will always be part of this space, with a lifetime 10% grooming discount as part of that continued relationship.
​A Thoughtful & Personal Process
I try to keep my process simple, structured, and communicative.

From first contact to reservation, selection, and going home, I guide each family personally. Because my program is small, I do not produce puppies constantly—I focus on timing, quality, and the right matches.
​
This is not a high-volume program—it is a thoughtful, intentional experience designed to help you find your perfect companion.
​
My Commitment
My goal is to make this process feel smooth, personal, and genuinely enjoyable—from the first conversation to the moment you take your puppy home. Finding your puppy should feel exciting, meaningful, and right.

I put a strong focus on raising puppies that are not only beautiful, but also healthy and well-balanced. Every decision I make—from genetics to care—is centered around giving each puppy the best possible start in life. While no one can control everything in nature, I do everything within my responsibility and knowledge to provide puppies that are thriving, properly evaluated, and ready for their new homes.

I do my best to guide each family with care, honesty, and clear communication, while also balancing my role as a breeder, a business owner, and a person with a family and responsibilities.
Beyond that, I truly value building a connection. Many of my families become long-term clients and part of my extended Sakura family.
At the end of the day, what matters most to me is that you feel confident in your experience, happy with your puppy, and connected to the journey that brought you together—knowing you chose a program that prioritizes both love and responsibility.
